Wheelchair Accessible Entrance Signs from ADA Sign Depot

  • ADA compliant non-glare matte finish
  • ADA compliant font and tactile (1/32 inch raised) letters
  • ADA compliant size and letter height
  • ADA compliant California domed Grade 2 Braille (The use of California standards for braille satisfies both Federal and California regulations, allowing a single dot configuration for all braille signs nationwide.)
  • Our high-quality yet economically priced Wheelchair Access Entrance ADA Compliance Signs are guaranteed to pass inspections performed by California Certified Access Specialists—or your money back.
  • Mounting ADA Compliance Signs: While we include foam tape on the back side of our signs, we recommend ADA signs always be mounted using either fasteners or a construction grade silicone adhesive, such as Lexel. For signs larger than 6" x 6" the foam tape we provide is intended only as an aid for positioning the sign while using fasteners or adhesive for mounting. For correct positioning and mounting heights, view or download our ADA Sign Mounting Guide

Marking wheelchair accessible entrances to your business or publicly accessed property is an essential requirement under the Americans With Disabilities Act. And it just makes good sense, both for persons with disabilities and people without a disability. Just as properly signing all Exits makes sense. Many people think that ADA signs are something that only blind or other people with disabilities benefit from. But it becomes very apparent, with just a moment's thought, that signs on exits, entrances, stairs or ramps and restrooms make life easier for all of us.

This ADA compliant Entrance sign includes a tactile (raised to the touch) International Symbol of Accessibility and tactile text, as well as Grade 2 Domed Braille. The matte finish meets ADA specifications, minimizing glare for those of us with macular degeneration or other vision challenges. The design of ADA signs such as this entrance sign allow the sighted, sight impaired, and blind to interact with and gain the message from this sign. Of course, Braille is for blind or severely sight impaired people who have learned to read this language of raised dots. But many people with limited vision do not read Braille. They will actually touch and "read" the tactile/raised letters and symbols commonly used on ADA compliant signage. ADA signs are for all of us.

One of the least understood benefits of ensuring your business or property is ADA compliant is the ease of access and use this provides your customers and visitors. Another misunderstood benefit is safety. Knowing where exits and entrances, stairs and elevators are is essential. Knowing what is behind a door because it is properly marked with an ADA compliant room identification sign is convenient for everyone. And sometimes, life-saving. In America we justifiably pride ourselves on our enlightened and well-enforced building codes. Especially here in California, where "the next big one" can come today. But fires and other emergencies happen everywhere. A cornerstone of all modern building codes is well-marked exits and entrances, wayfinding and paths of travel. We spend a big part of our professional energy and time designing and making ADA compliant signs, so you can call us biased. But we believe good signage is a critical part of well designed, well maintained, and safe buildings and public spaces.
