While many locations may in fact use the Federal sign, this North Carolina Handicapped Parking Sign is one of the two correct and state approved signs to reserve a parking space for drivers with disabilities and state-legal handicap parking plates in North Carolina.

The other approved sign is the North Carolina Disabled Parking sign with Double Arrow. You can order this sign with out without the double-headed arrow.

Both designs, with a double-arrow, or without an arrow, are legal. It is advisable to consult with your local authorities for which design is locally preferred or required before purchasing. Parking lots and garages in North Carolina are required to post state-specific parking signs for use by drivers with legal disabled parking plates on their vehicles.
