Using a Wheelchair in NYC Subways: Few Entrances and Sometimes No Exit

Among the first challenges I faced was navigating my neighborhood in New York on wheels. With practice, I slowly increased my range, and began getting around the city independently. I took buses, taxis and eventually the subway. I returned to work as a software engineer at Google 18 months after my accident.

Over $15 Million Paid by Wells Fargo to Compensate Over 900 Individuals with Disabilities

Wells Fargo has paid a total of almost $15.2 million to 925 people who experienced discrimination in banking in violation of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). This is the largest payment under an ADA settlement with the department. The Department notes Wells Fargo’s cooperative engagement throughout the 5-year claims administration process at this successful conclusion.
