Maximum Room Occupancy Signs - Standard No Braille or With Optional Grade 2 Braille

This Maximum Occupancy Room Sign is used to indicate the maximum number of persons allowed in a room or area as specified by fire and/or building codes or inspectors. Maximum room occupancy signs (also called maximum room load signs) typically do not require Braille. However, we do offer the option of having Braille added to your Max Occupancy signs, for the rare instance when an access inspector requests it. Note: Signs with Braille will measure 12' x 8".

This Max Occupancy room sign is also available in brushed aluminum, BAL-1051 Maximum Occupancy Sign

5 Star Review of ADA Sign DepotHeather Hemet, CA
"Awesome service and pricing!"

Maximum Room Load Occupancy signs are signs used for building management, and fire and emergency response, and so are not required to have Braille. However, sometimes an ADA inspector or other compliance officer will want Braille added to reflect the sign's text and the number of persons allowed in a room. Modern building safety and fire codes have evolved over time and in response to unfortunate disasters. Developing signs to enhance building safety while meeting building codes and ADA compliance codes is part of the continual improvement of building safety in the United States.

Maximum Room Occupancy Signage

  • Non-glare matte finish
  • Tactile (1/32 inch raised) letters
  • Optional ADA compliant California domed Grade 2 Braille
  • Mounting Max Occupancy ADA Room Signs: While we include foam tape on the back side of our signs, we recommend ADA signs always be mounted using either fasteners or a construction grade silicone adhesive, such as Lexel. For signs larger than 6" x 6" the foam tape we provide is intended only as an aid for positioning the sign while using fasteners or adhesive for mounting. For correct positioning and mounting heights, view or download our ADA Sign Mounting Guide
